Hello everyone,

Sorry it's been a while since our last post! I've been sorting a new PC and we are down a member of staff too. I will continue to update the blog as much as possible.

So, the concert is fast approaching (Sunday the 17th July). There will be no session on the Saturday 16th!!!
I have asked pupils to arrive at 9am to help set up but this time is voluntary. All pupils must arrive no later than 10:30am as our start time is set at 11:00am. I would also recommend that parents/family/friends etc also arrive at 10:30am so not to miss anything.

There will be many other events happening on the day (car boot, food, other bands, dances). There will be lots to do!

M&M are putting on two 'sets'. One starts at 11:00am and may run for 40mins. The other starts at 12:00pm and may run for 40mins.

P.s. payments were due in last Saturday. If you have not paid yet please could you get it to us ASAP. Thanks

We've been putting the final preparations together for our concert next Sat (2nd April).All pupils should arrive at 9am, parents and other guests should arrive at 10.30am and the concert will start at 11am.

Everyone is really busy working hard to get the songs ready. We have been running vocal sessions for the past four week now and it is sounding good. We only have a few sessions left before we start 'technical' rehearsals.

Well It's the weekend after school broke up. It's snowing and two tutors are away!

It went very well today despite a lot of absent pupils. Thanks to everyone that turned up. Well done to everyone for working hard! There is no lesson next week. We are back on the 5th March.

My hat goes off to Oliver Bailey for focusing on his work and ignoring others trying to distract him. Lucas Jones for learning the whole lesson plan, no sweat. Leigh Musgrave for making significant progress in the ensemble song. well done!

Well done to Liam Brown for practising everything given to him. Clarice Turton for working hard on her solo piece.

I would also like to congratulate Jonny Burgin, Dan Garthwaite, Chris Hall and Tom Masters in their efforts in learning 'Buried Alive' By Avenged Sevenfold. It sounds awesome!

From Group One we have the amaizing Oliver Bailey, selected for reading 'Stairway To Heaven'. Emily Spawton for helping her fellow students and being generaly awesome. James Wilkinson for learning a mean shuffle. Well done you three!

From Group Two I give you Callum Bowler for re-stringing his guitar despite many, many obsticles. Alex Csurko for learning 'Let It Be' in one lesson. Go team?!

From Group Three Ian Chipchase for loaning his guitar to Mr Dawson, and Callum Dawson for breaking his first string (you owe Ian a string BTW).

Also Dan Garthwaite for being very enthusiastic.

Group one students who worked particularly well today are, James Wilkinson on drums. Matthew Lister on guitar and Amelia Waxman. Keep up the hard work!

Group two pupils that are hitting targets and achieving superb progress are Clarice Turton and Alex Csurko on keys, Ben Clarke on bass, Saffron Cluthers on drums. Well done guys.

mini concert 11th Dec

I'm happy to report that all the performances are beyond my expectations. Thanks to all pupils that got up and performed and thanks to those parents that dropped in to watch.

We are at our half way point and some of our pupils are ready! I hope that everyone enjoys the Christmas break and we'll get back to the hard work on the 8th Jan 2011.

Thanks to the Waxman family for our roses... you rock!

We had another good turn out today in spite of the weather- we rock!

Congratulations to Ellie Jones from guitar group one- I'm told she was very enthusiastic in learning the work set.

Jacob Wood- is impressing all of us with his technical abilities, paradiddles in particular... well done!

I am very pleased with Amelia Waxman for coming prepared (music book and diary). She also work hard today and did a lot of practise on timing.

We have updated our website http://www.majorsandminors.tk recently added is another performance from the last concert, a lost music video made by Laura Hyde and Ellen Davies, keyboard tutorials by Alex Csurko and Matthew Dransfield.

Ok so I'd like to say a big thank-you to everyone that came in this Saturday even through the snow! thanks to Alex for recording our first keyboard tutorial (I'll be adding it to our 'tut' section very soon).

Saphron and Sam helped me out lots with the drums today too so cheers you two!

Laura has been studying relentlessly for her grade two RGT exam... good luck... not that you need it.

Our DVD for the concert 18th July 2010

Unfortunately one of the cameras we used to film the concert has gone missing, and so the DVD we planned to make has been on a shelf collecting dust. The good news is... I have got some good footage from other cameras and I will post a few up very soon.
